Gospel Study – Week 4: A New Life in Christ
Welcome to the Final Week!
You’ve learned what the gospel is.
You’ve discovered why we need it.
You’ve seen what Jesus did for you on the cross and in His resurrection.
Now comes one of the most exciting parts:
You get to live a brand-new life.
The gospel doesn’t just change your beliefs — it changes who you are. When you put your faith in Jesus, the Bible says you are born again, made new, and filled with resurrection power.
You’re not who you used to be.
Your past doesn’t define you anymore.
You’re not alone or unloved.
You are God’s child — full of peace, hope, and purpose.
This final session will help you see yourself the way God sees you now — and show you how to keep walking in this amazing new life.
⸻
Purpose
To discover what it means to be raised to new life with Christ — and how to live in your new identity through the power of God’s Spirit.
⸻
START HERE: Let’s Talk
• What do you think it means to live a “new life” in Christ?
• Have you ever felt stuck in shame, guilt, or old patterns?
• How would your life look if you truly believed you were made new?
⸻
Let’s Go to the Bible
2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
• What has changed about someone who is “in Christ”?
• What does this say about your old life?
⸻
Romans 6:4
“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead… we too might walk in newness of life.”
• What kind of life are we now called to walk in?
• What does this have to do with Jesus’ resurrection?
⸻
Colossians 3:1–3
“Since you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above… For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.”
• What does it mean to be “raised with Christ”?
• How should this change your focus and priorities?
⸻
Galatians 2:20
“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.”
• Who now lives in you?
• How might that change the way you see yourself — and your future?
⸻
Let’s Understand It
Key Truths from Scripture:
When you believe in Jesus, you are a new creation — the old is gone.
You have been raised with Christ — you share in His resurrection power.
Your old shame, guilt, and weaknesses are no longer your identity.
You now live with Christ in you — you’re never alone again.
Through prayer, the Bible, and church, you grow into who you already are.
⸻
Let’s Talk Deeply
• What part of your old life do you need to leave behind?
• What are you most excited about in this new life with Jesus?
• How do the truths of your new identity help you deal with shame, fear, or doubt?
• What does it mean to go on an adventure with God?
⸻
Wrap-Up Challenge
Before you move on:
Write a declaration: “Because I’m in Christ, I am…” (Then finish the sentence with what’s now true about you.)
Commit to growing: Read your Bible, pray, and be part of a church community.
Celebrate: Thank God for making you new. This is just the beginning!
⸻
Final Thoughts
The gospel is not the end of the story — it’s the beginning of a brand-new life.
You are not defined by your past. You are defined by God’s love and Jesus’ victory.
You are now forgiven.
You are free.
You are filled with His Spirit.
You are a new creation — full of hope, full of purpose, and ready for more.
So take a deep breath — and get ready.
This is the start of your adventure with God.
Walk boldly. You are not alone. And the best is still to come.
