Ministry Workshop: Session 3 Title: Sharing the Vision — Serving with the Same Heart and Mission
1. Why Vision Matters in Ministry
Ministry is not random. We have a clear vision.
• Our vision:
“Reach the lost, make disciples, plant churches.”
• Everything we do in ministry must somehow help move us toward this.
• If a ministry or minister is not helping us move toward this, we must be willing to adjust, change, or remove it.
Biblical Foundation:
• Matthew 28:19–20 — The Great Commission: “Go and make disciples of all nations…”
• Habakkuk 2:2 — “Write the vision and make it plain…”
2. What Is Our Vision & Values?
Our Core Mission:
• Win Souls: Reach people with the gospel.
• Make Disciples: Help them grow in faith and character.
• Plant Churches: Expand God’s kingdom by raising leaders and teams.
Our Core Values:
• Evangelism: Sharing the gospel regularly.
• Discipleship: Training and shaping lives.
• Church Planting: Multiplication, not just maintenance.
• Teamwork: Serving together in unity.
3. Why This Matters for Ministry Team Members
We cannot move forward in ministry if everyone is pulling in different directions:
• Amos 3:3 — “Can two walk together unless they are agreed?”
• A divided vision leads to frustration and stagnation.
Everyone in ministry must embrace and carry this same heart and mission.
4. Self-Reflection & Leader Conversation Questions
Leaders should ask:
• Do you fully agree with and share our church’s vision and values?
• Where did you get your passion for this mission? Was it caught from this church, from God’s word, or another place?
• Are you willing to lay aside personal preferences for the sake of the bigger vision?
• Do your personal actions, conversations, and attitudes reflect this same vision outside of official ministry?
5. Final Challenge:
• Ministry is more than filling a position — it’s about pushing forward a shared vision.
• We ask all who join our ministry teams to carry this mission in their hearts, in how they serve, speak, and live.
• It’s not just “the church’s vision” — it must become your vision too.
